Summer Camp Counselors, or Team Leaders as we call them at Galileo, are the single most consistent presence in the experience of each Camp Galileo camper, and have the greatest potential impact on each camper’s summer. - Lead your team of up to 20 campers each week and assist Instructors as campers rotate to art, science and outdoor sessions
- Assist with daily set-up and cleanup of camp and assist Instructors with lesson preparation

- Maintain a safe environment and provide leadership and camp spirit to all campers

- Upper high school or college student

ABOUT THE JOB
Summer Camp Counselors, or Team Leaders as we call them at Galileo, are the single most consistent presence in the experience of each Camp Galileo camper, and have the greatest potential impact on each camper’s summer. They stay with the same set of campers throughout the week and create physical and emotional safety of each and every camper within a team. This role is seasonal Full Time, working Monday - Friday.
YOU WILL
- Lead your team of up to 20 campers each week and assist Instructors as campers rotate to art, science and outdoor sessions
- Assist with daily set-up and cleanup of camp and assist Instructors with lesson preparation
- Provide excellent customer service to families and guardians daily
- Maintain a safe environment and provide leadership and camp spirit to all campers
- Contribute to and participate in daily camp activities, including camper check-in and check out, opening/closing ceremonies, snack & lunch & extended care supervision and programming
- Team Leaders will report to the Camp Director and receive professional development and ongoing coaching
YOU HAVE
- Upper high school or college student
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience in after-school programs or leading programs for kids of a wide range of grade levels a plus
- Genuine love for and interest in working with children and/or education
- Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy, and exceptional enthusiasm each day
- Flexibility to meet changing needs and demands while balancing multiple tasks efficiently
- Desire to work collaboratively on a team, with an openness to feedback and a desire to grow professionally
